I had the most pleasant time in this office! From the phone call to set up the appointment to the moment I left, everything was seamless. I was very nervous coming in, but everyone was so kind and welcoming that it immediately put me at ease. The staff was professional and genuinely caring, and John took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire visit…
I had an outstanding experience with both the Dr. Jon Hastings and the hygienist at this practice. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. The hygienist was incredibly thorough, gentle, and informative—she explained everything she was doing and gave me helpful tips for better oral care…
Several years ago, I was Friday night, 11:30 at night, and I was eating a frozen chocolate goo-goo cluster. My tooth broke and came out underneath my crown, this tooth right here. I had no tooth. I called him on Friday night at 11:30. He met me in the office 10 o’clock Saturday morning and he fixed it until I could get the tooth pulled. Then he put an implant in. It doesn’t matter when it is. He was available and took care of it and made it work. It was the best treatment. I went with the implant instead of the bridge. It was a good choice. I’m very happy with it 13 years later. I think it’s been 13 years. Neither one of us could really remember which tooth it is. You need to go see John Hastings. He is the best dentist. He’s just, he knows what he’s talking about. He’s not going to steer you in the wrong direction. You can trust what he says.
I actually came because I have some issues with one of my molars and I had to have a root canal and a crown done, which led to actually a few other pieces of major dental work that I had to have done as well, so some additional crowns and some root canals. For me, I think anytime you have to have dental work or any medical work it’s always kind of anxiety-ridden because you don’t know what to expect. It’s sometimes expensive and it can be painful. My experience with Dr. Hastings has been awesome. I don’t think I’ve really ever experienced any dissatisfaction in the clinic at all. I think that he has done a great job of making sure that I’m pain free through all of the work that I’ve had done and he’s always been really great at educating me on how to move forward, what the best path forward is, giving me different options to work with, and then also educating me on how to make sure that I’m taking care of my teeth so that I don’t have issues like this in the future. He does a really good job of checking in on me, you know, asking a lot of questions to make sure that I don’t have any pain, that I’m doing okay consistently. He always does a good job of engaging me or maybe distracting me from the actual work that’s being done, whether that be conversation or maybe even just talking me through the process and letting me know what’s going on, which is really important because I think it’s really easy to sit in a chair and have some work being done when you really can’t talk, for obvious reasons, and not know what’s good exactly what’s going on but Dr. Hastings always does a good job of keeping me informed. My sister-in-law actually works for another dentist clinic so I could easily probably go visit a clinic that she works in because she has a relationship with the dentist there, but I’m so comfortable with Dr. Hastings that I actually have pitched it. As I said before, I’ve got a few family members that do come see Dr. Hastings largely because I think Dr. Hastings is straightforward. I think he’s honest. He’s friendly and he’s approachable, and above all he does really great work.
I came here for the implant because we were eating dinner at a friend’s house and I bit down on a piece of bone and I broke my tooth in half. It didn’t break it in a way that I had to call for an emergency and have Doctor Hastings meet me or anything like that, although I know he would’ve. But I did wait till the following Monday and I was able to get right in and that’s when we went over the options of what I could do. The implant was the option that I chose. The process went really swiftly. It took four months. Basically, you have to remove the tooth and then you have to let it heal. Then they have to put in an implant and then let that heal. Then finally at the very end, it takes 10 minutes, we put in the tooth. But overall, he explained it thoroughly from start to end and how it would work. I understood the whole process and it was easy to do. It was very easy to do.The office is really easy to work with and easy to come in to. Doctor Hastings is really thorough and competent and really makes you comfortable and does a good job and honestly, that’s why I started coming here was because Doctor Hastings kept a full-time hygienist on staff and will work with just me.
My husband and I moved here in 2004 when he retired, and my biggest fear or concern was finding a dentist. Several years ago, I had my front 18 teeth, top and bottom, crowned. I lived in fear that a crown would come off and a dentist wouldn’t be able to match it or make it look natural or like it belonged there, and that would be with me for the rest of my life. That was a big fear I had. When I got here in 2004, I called a lab. I think I called a couple of labs, and I figured they would probably tell me who they felt was good at this situation and this problem that I was dealing with. They said Dr. Jon Hastings would be the one they would choose over the two if they had the choice. That’s how I came to him in the first place. He’s wonderful, but the thing is, I think it boils down to trust. With Jon, I feel like I can trust him. He’s not going to do anything to me that he wouldn’t do to his own wife. He will tell me what my options are and let me choose, but if I say, “What would you do?” he will tell me.He’s honest, and he’s warm and he’s friendly. I really appreciate that, because I don’t think to him I’m just a patient. He treats me as a real person, and that’s a big deal. So I trust. I think trust is the biggest thing and the reason I keep coming back. He’s not the closest dentist to my house. There are much closer dentists, and I’m sure cosmetic dentists, but I don’t trust anybody but Jon. I just want to keep coming to him.
I have a better smile than I did. I smile now with my teeth more. I laugh and giggle a lot more because I’m not afraid for people to see my teeth. Eating has been a lot better for me.It’s been a very neat experience. He was very upfront when he talked to me when I first came in and had counsel with him. He told me how long it was going to take. There’s other dentists that are closer, a half hour away, but I like his bedside manner. I like how you feel when you leave the office. It’s upbeat, like I said. It’s positive. There’s not any negativity. He makes it fun. I think Dr. Hastings truly cares about each and every patient he has. He wants to make sure that you’re satisfied with his work as well as he is satisfied. He takes pride in what he does.I’ve gone to dentist’s office before and it’s, “Hi. I’m here. My name is Michelle. I have an appointment at 1 o’clock,” and they go, “Okay. Go sit down.” You don’t get that when you come to Times Square Dental. You get, “Hi Michelle. How are you today? I see you’re early for your appointment. How was the drive down?” Because they know I drive far. They’re personable. They know about you and they care about you. I think that’s what I like best about them. They’re your friend as well as your dentist and your receptionist and hygienist.
I had a cavity that had been filled from a different dentist that hadn’t been cleaned out properly so the tooth continued to decay underneath the filling, which required a root canal and a crown to be put on the tooth. Super easy. I just, a couple of weeks ago actually, got another crown. It’s great now because they make the crowns in-house. In one day, I came in. I had a tooth that had more filling than a tooth should have. Dr. Hastings was concerned of the potential that the tooth would break. He suggested that I have the filling removed and a crown put on the tooth. In just a couple of hours, I came in, had the tooth worked on, went over, had my cleaning, and then went back and the crown had been prepared. They put it on and I left. It was super quick, super convenient.Since coming to Times Square Dental, I’ve referred several family and friends to Dr. Hastings and everyone has been super pleased with not only Dr. Hastings but his hygienist and assistants, and the ladies up front. It’s kind of a family atmosphere. A lot of the people have been here for at least 10 years since I’ve been coming here. Everyone’s super kind and gentle. They have a good time though, too. They like to have fun. As fun as going to the dentist can be, they make it as fun as possible or enjoyable as possible.
Our family has been coming to Times Square Dental for over 10 years and we love it here because it’s clean, it’s professional, the staff is the best you’ll find around here. We actually lived near here when we first started going to John, and then we moved away. I felt like with five children, we didn’t have the time to be coming back and forth, so I switched to another dentist that was right across the street from our home. After one experience, we quickly realized how fortunate we were to have John here at Times Square Dental, so we came back.We have great care. John is very personable, he’s funny and very genuine. My teenagers loved coming and my little ones have never been afraid to come. I’ve had a son who broke both of his front teeth at different times, and John has always been very accommodating. The one experience was very traumatic and it was over a holiday, and we called John up, and he said, “I’ll meet you at the office and take care of them.” Even though he was leaving town, he took time to do that for us.John’s staff, they’re just topnotch. We’ve never had to wait more than five minutes for an appointment, and he’s able to get two or three of my kids at one time, which is really important to me as a mom because time is precious. I did not have that experience at another office, so that’s important to me. I would highly recommend Times Square Dental to anybody.
I was experiencing a little bit of soreness on a tooth. I wasn’t too concerned because I’d already been in for a clean, and they said, “There’s a tooth that has a little decay.” I had an appointment made and a couple, three weeks later it abscessed and my jaw starts swelling up. So I called and they got me in, said, “We can get you in tomorrow to see you.” As the day went on, my jaw kept swelling up. Called them back, and they said, “Yeah, well let’s get you on antibiotics.” They sent a prescription to there and got me in the next day. We went on with the root canal, which he took me over to the next door neighbor for the root canal. I’m totally good with John, and actually a guy at work who’s having some teeth issues that need root canal, I said, “I’d call John.” I believe he did.
