After spending his childhood in Idaho Falls, Dr. Jon Hastings completed his undergraduate education at Idaho State University. He then went on to the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Dr. Hastings then completed one year of additional training in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. He has maintained this commitment to continuing education ever since to provide the quality care you and your family members deserve.
He is also a graduate of the Kois Center for dental learning and the Hands-On Training Dental Implant Residency with Dr. Ken Hebel. He is in the process of completing courses through Frank Spear Dental Education. To further improve your quality of care, Dr. Hastings also invests in state-of-the-art dental technology.
He has been practicing in Boise, ID since 1997. Dr. Hastings enjoys all phases of dentistry. His main focus is getting to know the wonderful people he serves and making sure you understand your dental needs and the options available to you.
Dr. Hastings has been married to his wife, Peggy, for 25 years and they have four kids: three daughters and one son. He loves living in Boise and enjoys all that the Ada County area has to offer. My son was referred to Dr. Hastings for a dental procedure to aid in his orthodontic treatment. After working us into his schedule before the end of the year, Dr. Hastings personally called me to answer the questions I had regarding the procedure. Upon coming in for the appointment, Dr. Hastings laid out our options and explained everything in depth while his awesome staff kept my son entertained. I ultimately made the decision to wait on the procedure based on the information given, and Dr. Hastings was also able to provide further information and product recommendations for some of the other issues my son is facing with his teeth, along with some samples to trial. I cannot recommend Dr. Hastings and his staff enough! I felt informed, empowered to ask questions and make the best decision for my son, and he and his staff were incredibly supportive and welcoming from start to finish.
The staff is welcoming and engaging. They remember details about you and are friendly during the entire process. I had a new hygienist and she was more than welcoming and made me feel like a valued customer. I always recommend this location and believe Dr. Hastings and is truly patient oriented. Dr. Hastings has been my dentist for quite a few years now. I go there twice a year for cleanings and dental check ups. I’ve had wonderful experiences every time I go. That’s because he and his entire staff truly care about every single patient. You’re not simply a number to them, you are a person and they get to know you. On top of that, the dental hygienist are very gentle when cleaning my teeth. Recently, I had to get a crown and unlike other offices, Dr. Hastings has the material and the tools to create the permanent crown right there in his office. So I didn’t have to wear a temporary crown waiting for the permanent one to come in.
